A Day in the Life with My Teething Twins: Finding Rhythm and Rest

Good Days Start with Good Naps

When you’re a twin mom, you quickly learn that good naps make good days. My entire day revolves around my twins’ nap schedule, especially now that teething is in full swing.

The hardest days are when teething throws everything off. One twin wakes while the other finally dozes off, and the whole day turns into a cycle of comforting, feeding, and trying to help them rest again. But when their naps line up, those are the best days. I can breathe, reset, and enjoy a few moments of calm before the next feed or diaper change.

Teething: The Icy Milk Trick That Works

We’re deep in the teething stage right now, which means I’ve had to get creative. One of my favorite tricks is using frozen breast milk cubes. I make small, half-inch cubes that fit perfectly inside silicone feeders, the kind made for fruit once they’re ready for solids.

They’re cold enough to soothe sore gums, and since they’re made from breast milk, I know they’re safe and comforting. I also use teething straws that I chill in the freezer for a few minutes. Once removed, they stay cold just long enough to give the twins some relief without being too hard or icy. These little things make such a difference on rough teething days.

Tracking Naps (Without Losing My Mind)

I’m not one to track every single baby detail, but naps are my exception. I use the Huckleberry app, and it’s been a total game-changer.

What I love most is the “Sweet Spot” feature. It predicts the ideal nap window based on my twins’ wake times, and it’s surprisingly accurate. It helps me keep their days somewhat in sync even when teething makes sleep unpredictable.

At four months old, they’re finally starting to fall into a loose routine. Bedtime is becoming more predictable, and I can see how much smoother our days are when naps and nights follow a pattern.

Finding Peace in Predictability

Parenting twins means learning to adapt and celebrate the small victories. Syncing naps, easing teething pain, and getting a little time to yourself all count as wins. Every day looks a little different, but we’re slowly finding our rhythm together.

Good naps, cool teethers, and a flexible mindset are what keep us moving forward and help me feel like I’m doing something right in this wild and beautiful stage of twin life
